What is the difference between a hurricane, typhoon and cyclone?

They are the same kind of storm. It is called a hurricane in the Atlantic and Northeast Pacific, a typhoon in the Northwest Pacific, and a cyclone in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean.

When is hurricane season?

In the Atlantic it runs from June 1 to November 30, peaking from mid-August to October. The Eastern Pacific season starts May 15.

What is the most dangerous part of a hurricane?

Storm surge and inland flooding cause most hurricane deaths, not wind.
