Hurricane and cyclone safety: what to do
Hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones bring destructive wind, flooding rain and storm surge, the deadliest part of the storm.
What to do
- Follow evacuation orders. Storm surge is the deadliest part of a hurricane.
- Shelter in a sturdy building away from windows. Have water, food, medicine and a charged phone.
- Never drive or walk through floodwater.
